A capability of some VCOs to vary the pulse width (duty cycle) of a generated pulse wave according to a control voltage. Continuously varying the pulse width simulates the effect of having two square wave oscillators varying in phase with respect to each other (as if slightly out of tune); it creates a full, spacious sound.
