A concept for a multi-algorithm synth that Waldorf demonstrated at trade shows in 2007. This complex synth was to have included all of the synthesis methods and features from several previous Waldorf models, including the wave scanning capabilities from the Waldorf Wave and Microwave, and the virtual analog features of the Q series. An unusual feature was the inclusion of plug-in circuit modules which would have provided various types of analog circuitry, including transistor ladder filters, and a vacuum-tube-based distortion unit. The Stromberg never made it into production and it is not clear if Waldorf ever built a working prototype; the units shown in 2007 were non-working concept models.
